Get Help!!!

The Bible is our guide through this exciting adventure out of the shackles of bondage and into the promises of God! It is laid out before us as a map to guide us on the expedition. The story of Moses has great insight that we can surely relate. The Pharaoh would represent anything or all things that try to keep you from the promises of God. He did not want to let the Israelis free. He wanted to keep them as slaves. He was the representation of evil. There are many forces of evil that want to keep you in your place. That evil might be addiction. It might be a mindset. It may even be "your own" self defeating, self sabotaging behaviors. Take no ownership over these things. It is not who you were created to be. These ideas were forced upon you through the works of the evil one, the pharaoh or whatever that evil looks like in your life.

The Pharaoh held on stubbornly through the many conditions that God enacted to show them the suffrage of their idol worship. Each of the plagues represented a theme of Egyptian worship. Think of what you give worth to? Are you a smoker? Every time you buy that pack it's ten bucks of worth to something that keeps you in bondage. Is it you holding on to those cigarettes? We have all seen what those cigarettes will do, a tube in the throat, chemo, etc... Is that really your will for your life because if so your will is death. If you are held down by sexual addiction you are in the same place. We know that AIDS is one of the possible outcomes but what about the idea that you are holding yourself at bay from a healthy relationship to give honor to your sexual demons. These forms of bondage seem to be from our own preferences but there is something, a pharaoh working from the inside. Most often it comes in from injury to our innocence. Restoration of our innocence is our healing.

Through the emotional battles of consciousness we are alerted to the enemy of life. We recognize the effects of our own idolatry. We may even recognize the choices that we make that keeps us connected to the traumas of our experience. After God delivered the Israelis from bondage they were in the desert trying to reconnect to what they had in Egypt. They were being taken care of. They were protected from their enemies but they kept with the idea that they were better off in Egypt. Yes, God you delivered me from addiction but Egypt was better. This road of recovery is too hard. I just want to get high and forget about the life I can have with my children. I just want to go back to Egypt and be a slave. In the desert it is the time for healing. That healing is surrendering to the part of you that still wants to live. It is surrendering with purpose to God! It is making the choice to live! I want to live!!!

Healing from trauma is not easy and just when you think you have you begin to realize some of the residual affects. You may start to notice that you are having control issues. This is natural because you had no control in Egypt. That loss of control has you seeking to have control. The battle continues because that type of control leads you right back to the same direction of thinking. I will not hand over my control to the enemy of life. I will not take control by making decisions that leads to death. I will hand over my control to love and to decisions that supports life. I will not choose to be in unhealthy relationships that leads to dysfunction and death. I will choose to be with people that support my positive decisions that leads to living a life more abundantly. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. I am tired of everything being a war.

Making the choice of healing will lead you into the promised land. There is no scarcity in the promised land. It is the land of milk and honey. This is where every aspect of your life thrives. If you are still in argument over this then you are still in the desert. There is a part of healing that is continuous and it may feel like you never arrive fully in the promised land but when you can actually take on the authority that Christ has given you, you will thrive. Everything that has been taken from you, you are able to reclaim. There are indications of your steps into the promised land that come from your own perspective of the world such as, my material "possessions" are no longer mine. They are meant to serve a purpose to expand the kingdom of heaven, to set other captives free, and to give the glory to God!

Before you Apply

We are a non-profit organization and as such we do not directly charge for any of the benefits we offer. We are funded by private donations and grants. We exist only to facilitate healing, healing in you and healing in the community. Before you apply we ask that you would consider what your healing is worth to you. We ask that you reflect on the last five years of your life. Do you want the next five to be a mirror of the last five? If nothing changes, nothing changes. Overcoming the effects of trauma can dramatically change your life. You may have learned to adapt and remain functional but somehow, in spite of all your efforts you struggle as if you are swimming with an anchor tied to your feet. If that has kept you in the same place throughout time then you owe it to yourself to dig in and get busy with a plan of healing.
